It was an open secret and it was confirmed just after the press conference. Juan Manuel Lillo is history in Almería
The vice president of the UD Almería, Ricardo Martinez, officially announced the dismissal of Lillo after communicating the decision to own coach. The board met as a matter of urgency just after the match against Barcelona and decided to end the technical stage of Tolosa in the club. The rout of Barca was the last straw in a situation that had been planned in the previous days. In fact, the future of Lillo in Almería was more than questioned and only a miracle could have prevented the decision to dismiss him. In an official note released by the club itself on its official website, it said the decision was made "for sporting reasons and for the poor results of the last day of the season".
RECALL OF THE SEASON FOUR
Juan Manuel Lillo, dismissed as coach of Almeria, is the fourth coach to not finish the season in first division. The first victim was Antonio Alvarez, who was fired after the defeat of Sevilla to the Hercules on the fifth day and replaced by Gregorio Manzano. Jesualdo Ferreira Portuguese was the second dismissed on 2 November and the coach of Manchester now ranks as the Chilean Manuel Pellegrini. The third fall was José Aurelio Gay, replaced the head of Zaragoza by Mexican Javier Aguirre.
